I’m Robert “Bob” Fahrendorf, and I’ve personally defended over 10,000 people in Northern Nevada in over 30 years of practicing law in Northern Nevada.
Please take a moment and think about that statement. How could one man build a practice to represent over 10,000 people? I don’t advertise; no television ads; no radio spots; no billboards. I don’t pay to have an ad placed at the top of the page when you search for an attorney on the internet. The numbers speak for themselves. The way that I’ve built this practice is through, what I believe is the best form of advertising, which is “word of mouth.”It is common for a prospective client to “attorney shop.” The process involves speaking with friends, colleagues, co-workers, friends of friends and surfing the web. I encourage people to shop.
A person needs to be comfortable with their attorney. They need to know that their attorney knows the law, has the ability to explain it to them, will meet personally with them, work hard on their behalf and charge them a reasonable fee.
I do all of those things for each client. Oftentimes, when a person retains me, I’ll ask them, “How did you find me?” They generally respond with “Your reputation. You are known for being an honest, hard-working attorney who will always tell me the truth. I’ve had many people refer me to you and then I read your reviews online and I knew that they were real. Now after meeting with you, it’s all true, you know the law, took the time to explain my potential defenses to the charge; your fee is reasonable, and, frankly, I feel better.” And, although, this is self-serving, simply put, “You’re the best.”
I believe that a client should have the ability to communicate with their attorney; therefore, I give clients my cell number. People can call or text me on nights and weekends, and, importantly, I actually respond in a timely manner.
As you can tell from this statement, I offer more than a resume. I bring knowledge of the law, experience, integrity, passion and compassion to every client that I represent. This is how I’ve built my reputation as a criminal defense attorney, and, in particular, as one of the pre-eminent DUI defense attorneys in Northern Nevada.
I am a member of the Nevada Bar Association, the Washoe County Bar Association and the National College of DUI Defense. I sat as a member of the Nevada Supreme Court Death Penalty Committee and have lectured at the National Judicial College.

I was involved in a single car accident and was charged with a DUI. After meeting with several lawyers, I decided to hire Bob to represent me. He was very straight forward with me about the process we would be going through and didn’t try to sugar coat anything. He told me the worst case scenario for my case and what he was going to do to fight it to get my charges reduced if possible. This was very helpful for me because I was completely new to this process and was pretty nervous about the whole situation. I met Bob five weeks ago after I had a DUI on Mt. Rose Highway. Found him through reviews on the internet. He probably is the best DUI attorney in Washoe County. He is not with one of those firms that have huge billboards advertising his services. Small firm, excellent service. I was in a one car crash on Mt. Rose. First time DUI. He walked me through the process, and was very down to earth and compassionate. He went through all the paperwork on my case and was able to get my charges reduced to reckless driving. He stayed with me throughout the process, including staying with me while I filled out my post sentencing paperwork. I trusted him 100%.
